First Impression Checklist (60 Seconds)

First Impression Checklist (60 Seconds)

If you only do a few things before work, a date, or meeting new people — do these. This is the “quiet confidence” stack.

1) Face & Grooming

  • Clean shave or tidy trim
  • Eyebrows & neckline checked
  • Lips not cracked (simple balm)
  • Teeth + breath (quick mint)

2) Clothes & Fit

  • One “clean” top (no stains, no wrinkles)
  • Fit matters more than brand
  • Shoes clean = instant upgrade
  • Belt/waistline tidy

3) Scent & Space

  • 1–2 sprays max (you’re not a candle)
  • Clean laundry smell beats heavy cologne
  • Deodorant always
  • Hands clean, nails trimmed

4) Body Language

  • Shoulders down, chest open
  • Slow your movements slightly
  • Stand still when you speak
  • Eye contact: 2–3 seconds

5) Voice

  • Start 10% slower than feels “normal”
  • Lower volume slightly (forces focus)
  • End sentences clean (no trailing off)
  • Pause before answering

6) Conversation Starter

  • Use one simple opener: “How’s your week going?”
  • Then one follow-up question
  • Don’t rush to impress
  • Leave a little mystery
Rule: You don’t need to look expensive. You need to look intentional.
